Pesta Buah

Semalam hari rabu, Kak Rohimah memborong buah2an di Pasar Borong (Buah) di Selayang. Siap buat kenduri buah kat opis. Dapat le kami sorang sebiji buah orange, plum dan epal New Zealand, selain dari buah mangga dan anggur hitam, merah dan hijau yang terhidang. Terima kasih banyak2 ye Kak Imah.

Hari ni giliran kami pula terjah ke situ. My first visit ke pasar buah. Geram gila kejap tengok pelbagai jenis buah yang ada. Kebanyakannya buah2an import. Local fruit pun ada juga tapi tak banyak sangat. Harga.. memang jauh lebih murah la if nak compare dengan kedai buah biasa. 

Antara buah yang kami borong :

class 1 strawberry from eqypt.. rm40 for 10 box.. dah beli baru nampak strawberry from korea..takper la, next time ye.. 

black plum AAA size from south africa - rm43 ada 35 biji..

premium fresh cherries from republic of chile - rm280 for 5kg.. was told that the best cherries  comes from new zealand unfortunately takde musim pulak..

royal dawn class 1 seedless grapes from south africa - rm58 for 4.5kg..

valley pride seedless green grapes from south africa - rm48 for 4.5kg.. kami beli 9kg..

Kami share2 beli buah ni. Masing2 ada event during weekend, tu yang memborong buah sakan. Bukan le kami tak makan local fruits dan tak menolong menjana ekonomi tempatan, tapi dah kat kedai tu sumenye imported fruits, dan murah plak tu.. Apalagi, beli aje la. Murah tu memang la murah dan berbaloi2 beli dalam kuantiti yang banyak. Bayangkan buah strawberry tu, RM4 per box, mana nak dapat kat luar kan. Kalau masuk supermarket musti dah double triple harganya.

Ok looks like akan datang ada lagi la trip ke sini..

Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2012

Another annual event that we have never missed - Hot Air Ballon Fiesta. Bukan apa, saja nak bawak anak2 tengok belon lagi. Dan dengan harapan this year dapat le naik belon. Kami ke sini hari jumaat, 16 mac '12.

Masa kami masih di compound Cyberjaya, kami ternampak ada satu belon yang dok tegak di bahu jalan. Pelik jugak nih. Anak2 dah start menjerit sebab excited sangat. Sempat lagi kami pergi dekat dan ambil gambar. Sorang crew ni siap cakap "oh you're late, you're late".

kami berpeluang masuk ke dalam belon sebenar - dengan bayaran rm2 seorang selama 3 minit..

This year kami ingat dapat la naik belon. Sampai ajer kaunter, tickets all sold. They were selling only 600 tickets perday, 1/2 in the morning and another half for the evening thru out the event. Probability untuk dapat tu memang amat tipis. So kalau dah betul mengidam nak naik memang kena datang awal sesangat la.

again anak2 sibuk nak buat wall climbing.. ok.. ada improvment from last year, dah boleh pijak dan naik sendiri.. tapi bila dah penat jadi la tergantung ala2 spiderman kat dinding..

kami tak lepas peluang naik kmx kart - basikal roda 3, yang tak tahan siap kena duduk berlunjur dan mengayuh.. penat..

seb baik aqid ringan, boleh gak tumpang atas peha ibucuk..

By this time Harith dah tak larat. Memang the nite before, dia dah demam skit. Belon punya pasal nak jugak pergi - almaklum cuti sekolah. Yang ibu pun bagi naik wall climbing dan kart. Turun basikal, Harith dah start batuk2 (abang ada athma) dan badan pun panas semula. Cuaca pun agak panas pagi tu (contributing factor he he). Sudahnya kami pun naik kereta dan round la Cyberjaya.

singgah bergambar di sini, nak juga tanya lisa dan yusri dah balik ke.. tapi tak de orang pulak ngeh ngeh..

Kami balik rumah ibungah dengan harapan agar petang dapat kami keluar semula ke situ untuk lihat belon2 panas berterbangan. Tapi lepas pukul 4 petang, hujan dah mula turun membasahi bumi, lebat pula tu. Memang katanya tiap2 petang hujan, so nak dapat naik belon panas memang takde. Ok la, nampak gayanya kita kena tunggu lagi tahun depan, mana tau ada rezeki dapat le kita kan kan.. 

Raptor Watch 2012

Last year, we happened to be here, but it was kind of late evening. We did not see even a raptor on the air. We were lucky this year - to witness the raptors journey back to the northern hemisphere. Click here for more info on this raptor watch.

we were here on sunday, 11 mar '12..

was held at the same place - ilham resort and training centre..

as usual, the kids were so excited, and the moms as well :D

unlike last year, this year we climbed up the hill to tg tuan forest reserve, which is the best point for raptors viewing..  

it feels like we have been walking for hours before reaching to the point.. seriously tiring..

on the way, passed by a group, with a guide, explaining on the journey of the raptors.. 

managed to touch down at malaysia's oldest lighthouse.. time for a break - kita minum dulu..

but still got a few steps to the top..

it's all about the lighthouse..

and the looks - only a few people were permitted to enter the compound..

everybody was patiently waiting for the raptors to come nearer..

We did not spent so much time up there, as the kids had started to move here anad there. Then we made our way back to Ilham, to stroll around the booths area.

this booth caught our attention - by the wildlife.. they were showcasing the illegal killing by the poachers.. those are real (last photo is an elephant foot)..

It was worth coming to this event, and be part of the people - especially the bird lovers and get to know on the migration of raptors. And not to forget the journey to  the lighthouse. Now the kids got the idea on how the real lighthouse looks like and its functions.

Thanks to Malaysian Nature Society, who has been organising this event for 13 consecutive years (note : they have been organising this for quite some time, and we happened to know only last year - what a shame he he). And we look forward to visiting this event again next year..
